Tracer, incendiary, exploder or armor piercing type ammunition is prohibited

There is a $5.00 per Day per Person Fee

The Handgun Metallic Silhouette Range is run by the Hawaii Metallic Silhouette Shooters Association. They are an IHMSA affiliated club. You may fire .22 rimfire rifles on this range as well as any caliber handgun. The range provides metal targets from 50 meters through 100 meters. It’s a great plinking range. You can watch your targets go spinning off the stand with each hit.

What to do

Bring your firearms unloaded and in a case. Check in with the range office and sign in.

Range commands

Periodic cease fires are called whenver targets need to be reset. Range commands are:

    • Complete your firing – finish up the ammunition that’s already loaded in your firearm
      • Clear and unload your firearm
      • Place it on the bench with the action open and chamber visible from the rear
      • Step behind the yellow line
    • Cease fire – do NOT pull the trigger once this command is given.
      • Clear and unload your firearm immediately
      • Place it on the bench with the action open and chamber visible from the rear
      • Step behind the yellow line
    • The line is safe, you may go forward
      • After you’ve reset targets, stand behind the yellow line
    • The line is hot – you may approach your position, handle firearms and commence firing
    Cease Fire may be called at anytime, not only when it is time to change targets.   Anyone may call Cease Fire if they feel there is any unsafe condition

.22 Rifles

.22 rimfire rifles may be fired on this range. Daily, there are many reactive targets set at 50 to 100 meters for plinking. Centerfire rifles and shotguns prohibited.

Pistols of Any Caliber

Any semiautomatic or revolver in any caliber may be fired on this range. We have many reactive targets set at 50 to 100 meters for plinking.

Monthly .22 Rifle Match

Once a month a .22 rifle match is held. Course of fire is 40 metallic silhouette targets. 10 each of:

  • chickens @ 25 meters
  • pigs @ 50 meters
  • turkeys @ 75 meters
  • rams @ 100 meters

Categories are:

  • Light rifle
    • 7 1/2 lbs and lighter including sights
    • 2 lb trigger or more
  • Heavy rifle
    • more than 7/12 lbs
    • no trigger minimum

All shooting is to be done from an offhand standing position. No slings or butt hooks. Iron or telescopic sights okay. Cost is $5.00 per entry. Includes hot lunch. Cash prizes.
